The last four weeks I've been in various middle schools visiting students for lunch. In Florida, most kids have to wear a school t-shirt or a solid polo with jeans, khakis, or long shorts. Where you see them expressing themselves is in their zip up hoodies, shoes, and accessories. It's really crazy when you see three girls walking down the hall--same height--same hair--same hoodies from HCO or PacSun--then, you see the girl by herself--no hoodie--and no real niche. It's sad to think about how much our clothing or ability to obtain certain types of clothing alienates us from one another, especially in middle school. I'm glad you started a blog!
